My names Jen and I am gay but ive never been with a girl or even kissed one. The readon bei g is that I am do self conscious about myself not just looks but because im so scared of getting rejected once again. What should I do?
You give yourself a pep talk! You are a strong, brilliant, hilarious, creative, gorgeous and kick-ass woman (man, individual, etc) and anyone would be beyond lucky to be with you. I think the more you say these things out loud and towards yourself, you’re more likely to start to believe these things (which are indeed true). And once you start believing these things, you’re going to start loving yourself more and that will lead to self confidence, which in turn, will lead you to taking more chances.
And truthfully, a rejection is not always a negative thing. It just means that you and that person weren’t right for one another and now you’re one step closer to finding the actual perfect person. It may seem like the end of the world, but I promise you, the world keeps moving and you’ll get so many more chances with so many other people and soon you’ll forget all about it.
ps. Seriously, I swear by pep talks. I have serious anxieties when it comes to meeting new people and any form of public speaking so I continually give myself pep talks in the morning in front of the mirror to boost my self esteem. Usually my pep talks are along the lines of “You are a powerful woman and you can do anything just like Beyonce so get out there and blow away these strangers with your brain”. It totally works.
Or find a friend to pep talk with. Em & I used to co-pep talk whenever either of us were down or stressed out. We’d go for coffee, lay out all of our anxieties/stresses/things that were bringing us down. And then build each other up.
Pep talks are the best!
Forget the war. Forget our ethnicity. Taking the time to thank these countries for helping look for the Malaysia Airlines MH370 with 239 passengers. I cant imagine how much pain their families are in just hoping for good news. Not from Malaysia but they are people and this isn’t okay. In my prayers🙏.
An Indian sandart artist Sudersan Pattnaik did this as a wish.
Lets share his beautiful work and kindness to the world!

THE LOVIN’ SPOONFUL
The Hums of the Lovin’ Spoonful (1966)
